Ever had a testimony about another Christian that was contradictory to their beliefs. Coming forth to make a bold statement, even though you may feel a little weary to tell your account of things you’ve had to witness about them.
So there you are standing before a group that you hope may be an unbiased people, who are willing to listen. But as you stand there telling your account of the facts, eyebrowsstart to be raised, while the expression on their faces go from looking noble to disgrace. Suddenly a frightful feeling comes over you as you start to think that you are talking to the wrong people.
When you finish giving your testimony you are humbled at the fact that no one is encouraging you to carry on the subject in further detail. And the words evil in high places or fighting against principalities and powers are the only words in your head.
Suddenly the silence is broken with an outburst of, “That is totally ridiculous and outrageously insane!” “Where did you hear such lies?” And even though you answer, “I witnessed it with my own eyes.” The commit is made, “I don’t believe a single thing you say!”.
You are reminded at just how wicked the tongue really is.
You see when people believe only what they want to believe it becomes a biased opinion. It doesn’t matter what you say after that, they’ll never believe you. It doesn’t have anything to do with your honesty or who you are as an individual. They are simply partial to that person or belief just as they have their own ideas and likenesses to everything they treasure in their lives. This is because people, Christian or not, are holding treasures dearer to their heart than God or other people. These people are obsessed with particular thoughts, objects, faiths, or beliefs. Therefore those things that they cherish the most are the things that they serve. These ideals and material objects have become their belief, faith, or God’s and therefore they are in service of these things. They pay tribute and give unsparingly to these ideals.
Even if it is another person that they are talking about, the ones that are in utter disbelief, have made other people of more value than themselves. Exalting other people above themselves, above God, and above all the things they treasure in their lives. If it is a person they have exalted then they are the god they serve.
The moral to this story is to not listen in unbelief, but to keep in mind that even Christ was doubted to be who He was and crucified. We should never acknowledge someone else’s story in disbelief, but put it to the test. Just because we are unsure about another persons testimony doesn’t make it a lie.
Those people who exalt other people to being a better person than themselves. Only prove that they are not very good people themselves and deep inside they were looking for someone else to save them from their own lives of ruination. The truth is you alone have the power to save yourself and no one else. On the other hand, Christ has the power to save you a second death just as he has given irrefutable evidence that not even he has the power to save you from death all together. We all must die, this is our curse for our sins as we are sinful creatures. Whether or not we choose to die a second death and giving evidence that we are truly sinful, is our choice.

One or two witnesses
If a man or woman living among you in one of the towns the Lord gives you is found doing evil in the eyes of the Lord your God in violation of his covenant, and contrary to my command has worshiped other gods, bowing down to them or to the sun or the moon or the stars of the sky, and this has been brought to your attention, then you must investigate it thoroughly. If it is true and it has been proved that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, take the man or woman who has done this evil deed to your city gate and stone that person to death. On the testimony of two or three witnesses a man shall be put to death, but no one shall be put to death on the testimony of only one witness. The hands of the witnesses must be the first in putting him to death, and then the hands of all the people. You must purge the evil from among you. Deuteronomy 17:2-7
One witness is not enough to convict a man accused of any crime or offense he may have committed. A matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. Deuteronomy 19:15
"If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.' If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector. Matthew 18:15-17
This will be my third visit to you. "Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses." 2 Corinthians 13:1
Do not entertain an accusation against an elder unless it is brought by two or three witnesses. 1 Timothy 5:19
Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? Hebrews 10:28-29
